April in October

For reasons long since obscured by the mists of time, Fabulon is haunted by the presence of a certain April Ames. She is forever hovering in the periphery, ready for her close-up, waiting for her come-back. And perhaps that is her ultimate destiny, to be a has-been who never really was. Her smoky voice and come-hither eyes, long the staple of late-night lounges and truckstops the world over, were never meant for the mainstream. Hence her cult following, a following that is largely Fabulon-based and has never actually heard her.
Now, by popular demand, Miss Ames returns. Below are the lyrics to her new single, soon to be covered by no less than Amy Winehouse.
~IS HE FROM GABON?~
Is he from Gabon?
I really need to know.
Is he from Gabon?
The guy scored me some blow.
Now I need a toot, so tell me
Is he, is he from Gabon?
Is he from Gabon?
He had some awesome hash.
Is he from Gabon?
If so, he owes me cash.
I could use a hit, so tell me
Is he, is he from Gabon?
There was a time
When roses bloomed,
and nothing could go wrong.
Now, it's a crime,
we all are doomed,
and I can't find my bong.
So tell me...
Is he from Gabon?
That dirty, rotten fink.
Is he from Gabon?
'Cause I could use a drink.
Soon he will be gone, so tell me
Is he, is he from Gabon?

I so enjoyed the last one but I'll need a lot more for "The collected Letters of April Ames" I am working on.
