Midcentury Mundane

No doubt these renderings are far more fabulous than the actual venues they portray. We might even go as far as to say they're suitable for framing!

Except for the Disco Mart, I've been to each and every one of these, usually as a sullen, whiny child. Mmmm, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and a carton of Twinkies.

Brings to mind a scene from the movie They Might Be Giants in which Geo. C. Scott & Joanne Woodward emerge from some sewer or steam tunnel into a supermarket parking lot at night.

In hindsight it seemed, when first viewed as a innocent years ago, a sort of lysergic "wow, look how big these keys are" beauty & mystery of the everyday kind of moment.

The King Cole Food Mart is particularly suitable for hanging on black velvet.
