Memphis Chairs

In addition to heaps of post-modern irony, the New Wave movement of the late seventies and early eighties often involved a certain spareness, trimming things down to their angular essence. This holds true of both music and design of the time, and reached it's apex with the creations of the Memphis Design Group, who actually managed to take a minimalist sensibility and make it excessive. And expensive!
