Favorite Loretta Young story: Mr. DeMille was having a tough time getting the ingenue to correctly read one of her lines in "The Crusades"; it kept coming out as, "Richard, you just gotta save Christianity." When DeMille gently suggested that Miss Young "put some awe" into her reading, Loretta attempted once more: "Aw, Richard, you just gotta save Christianity!"
